California Road Trip 2017

“If you’re not growing, you’re dying.” While this may be true to some (depending on how you define growth), it is important to remember that growth comes in many different shapes and sizes. Furthermore, the definition of “growth” has potentially endless connotations. Ringfree is growing–physically. We have added a number of brilliant people to our team in the last few months (myself included) and things are getting cozy around here. While our physical size is increasing, so is our vision. This is causing us to think more about ourselves as a team and as an organization. In order to get our heads straight and craft a sustainable path for realizing our vision for the future, we came up with a fantastic idea.

Ringfree is going on a road trip–to California. Eureka! The Golden State, The Land of Milk and Honey. Yes, we are going out West. Our expedition party consists of David W., Co-Owner and rabble rouser, Jon L., Software Developer and driver, Joe M., Social Media Strategist and photographer, and yours truly, Derek C., Creative Marketing Director and videographer. We are embarking on this trip to visit some of our beloved customers and support one of our IT Partners with heart. It has been a crazy year at Ringfree with much growth and change. That being the case, we truly care about our clients’ success and always want our partners to feel they’re taken care of.

Samuel Ingram, our man in Visalia, is the Owner of TechCare360. Sam has been a Ringfree IT Partner for over a year now and we are super happy to have him as an IT Partner. After flying into San Jose and touring the Tesla factory, we will depart for Visalia, in the Central Valley, to meet with Sam and some of our mutual customers. While in Visalia, we will be shooting interviews and b-roll material for a spotlight video. We have been producing spotlight videos for the past several months. Typically, these highlight some of our amazing customers and their contributions to our community in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The fact that we live and work in one of the most beautiful places on Earth doesn’t stop us from seeking and exploring new avenues for growth and adventure. We care about our partners and our customers and we want to make every effort to make sure they have what they need to be successful. Sometimes that means a face-to-face visit.

But, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So, after four days in Visalia, we will be heading East and North on a five-day escapade through Death Valley and the Eastern Sierras to Mono Lake before heading back to San Jose. Let’s call this research and development… I have plotted numerous sites to explore along the way, and am the only one who knows exactly where we will be staying. There will be much filming for some other projects we have in store, but I won’t spill the beans just yet. In fact, I am not entirely sure who or what we will encounter along the way. And therein lies the fun.
